Assistant Superintendent Mechanical Maintenance

We have an opening for an Assistant Superintendent Mechanical Maintenance to work in partnership with leadership and employees at our Hodge Mill in Hodge, Louisiana. This is a unionized facility with approximately 450 employees.
Experience ownership firsthand as you ensure the performance, reliability, and results of all equipment and corresponding maintenance and repair work (including contract work) at a world class corrugated medium paper production facility.
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:
\u2022 As the Assistant Superintendent for Mechanical Maintenance, you will assist with leading and driving continuous improvement for the Paper Machines, Power and Recovery, Wood yard, Pulp mill areas. As the Assistant Superintendent, you will ensure that every level of the organization under your direction, is fully engaged in safety, equipmenUprocess availability and reliability improvement.
\u2022 Proven leadership skills, building teams and ability to motivate others are key competencies in this position.
\u2022 Must be open to and capable of implementing change to drive for results through setting clear expectations and auditing for desired results.
\u2022 Must be capable of utilizing resources for maximum effectiveness in a multi-skilled environment. Provide input to assist with the development and management of the Maintenance budget under your area of responsibility.
\u2022 Sustain the Core Team roles and responsibilities with regard to the WMS, PrM, ECCM, and RCA process.
\u2022 Effective participation in Shutdown Planning and Execution is a key aspect of the Assistant Superintendent role.
Required Skills:
\u2022 HS Diploma or GED equivalent required (Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering is a plus)
\u2022 5 plus years of experience in the manufacturing industry in a Maintenance or Engineering role
\u2022 5 years of experience in a supervisory role. Experience in selection and development of direct reports
\u2022 Experience working with an organized labor union is highly preferred
\u2022 Training and/or experience with OSHA regulations, LOTO, confined space entry, governmenUcorporate regulations
\u2022 Computer skills on a variety of platforms, Microsoft Office suite, scheduling software, etc.
Plus (not required, but ideal)
\u2022 Familiarity with tank & vessel integrity, welding methods, inspections, NDT
\u2022 Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering is a plus
\u2022 Experience in JDE (JD Edwards) or other CMMS system is a plus
