We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Supervisor, Protective Services to join our Resource Protection team within Prince George, BC.
This temporary position is expected to last 6 months. Up to 40 hours per week.
Reporting to the Protective Services Supervisor, you will be responsible for the ongoing operational support of the Protective Services in-house Guard and Loss Prevention program.
The successful candidate must have flexible availability, including evenings and weekends. Must be available by phone after-hours and on-call shifts to address urgent issues and provide support when needed.
This role requires travel regularly between stores in Prince George, BC.
You will be responsible for:
Supporting the resource protection team members by serving as a coach and mentor through regular check-ins.
Acting as a point of contact for resource protection team members for critical incident reporting and providing guidance and direction to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Reporting critical incidents, store incidents, and customer complaints to Resource Protection Management.
Responding promptly to email and phone inquiries.
Creating the resource protection schedule to align with store requirements and budgeted hours.
Assisting the Resource Protection Supervisor with resource protection team member administrative related tasks, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, corrective actions, resignations, and terminations.
Investigating inquiries and complaints from customers or store management concerning resource protection team members' actions.
Reviewing and retaining CCTV footage records.
Having in-depth knowledge of company policies and resource protection procedures.
Staying informed on injury claim documentation and Worker’s Compensation claims, to assist with providing guidance to resource protection team members injured while on shift.
Keeping up to date with the Criminal Code of Canada information and sharing with resource protection team members.
Understanding court proceedings (e.g., court documents, scheduling, communication with Crown Counsel) to attend court proceedings with subpoenaed resource protection team members.
Visiting stores to meet with management to understand store needs.
Coordinating contract security services with approved companies when necessary.
Working a variety of shifts including training, on-the-floor and office shifts.
Assisting the Resource Protection team with additional tasks as required.
You have:
Minimum of 2 years working in a Security Guard related role.
A valid BC Security Worker Licence.
A valid class 5 BC Driver’s Licence and reliable transportation with the ability to travel to locations within Prince George, BC.
Intermediate to advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 with Outlook, Excel, Word and Teams.
Previous Loss Prevention Officer experience is considered an asset.
Previous experience in training and supervising Security Personnel and Loss Prevention Officers is considered an asset.
Advanced Security Training is considered an asset.

Compensation Details:
$26.00 - $30.00The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience, and other factors.
