This role will play a vital role in delivering engaging, high-quality instruction to students with a strong biomedical background. This position is anticipated to be hired at the Assistant Teaching Professor rank; however, qualified candidates may be considered at the Associate Teaching Professor and Teaching Professor ranks. The Biomedical Engineering Program (https://www.colorado.edu/bme/) within the College of Engineering and Applied Science has over 40 affiliated faculty from engineering and biological science fields across the CU Boulder campus and offers degrees at the BS, MS, and PhD levels. The BME program has a large, diverse, and enthusiastic student population. Research strengths include biomechanics and mechanobiology, medical devices, imaging and diagnostics, and therapeutics. **What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be** + The typical distribution of work for this role is 80% teaching and 20% leadership and service. + The selected candidate will be offered a multi-year contract which may be renewable; specific term length will vary based on start date. + The candidate will teach or co-teach core BME courses, including a capstone design course and potentially courses in introduction to biomedical engineering, biotransport, bioinstrumentation, and other related areas. **What You Should Know** + The anticipated start date for this position is August 2025, however an earlier start date may be negotiated and preferred. **What We Can Offer** + The anticipated salary range for this position at the Assistant Teaching Professor rank is $85,000-$100,000 academic year salary. + Qualified candidates will be considered for Associate Teaching Professor and Teaching Professor rank. College-level teaching experience as either the instructor of record or as a teaching assistant. + At least one term of college-level teaching experience as either the instructor of record or as a teaching assistant. At Associate Teaching Professor Rank: + For a candidate to be considered for appointment to the Associate Teaching Professor rank, the applicant must also have a minimum 6 years of teaching biomedical engineering at a higher education level and meet unit criteria at this level. At Teaching Professor Rank: + For a candidate to be considered for appointment to the Teaching Professor rank, the applicant must also have an additional 3 years (9 years total) of teaching biomedical engineering at a higher education level or comparable experience, and the candidate must be able to demonstrate a "record of distinction" based on departmental and college criteria.
