Job Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Psychology Department at Montclair State University is pleased to invite applications for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor position in Clinical Psychology to begin in September 2025. We are seeking a dynamic and collaborative colleague to join our American Psychological Association (APA)-accredited PhD Program in Clinical Psychology as Associate Director of Clinical Training (Associate DCT). The Associate DCT coordinates various program operations, including recruitment and admissions, clinical placements, comprehensive exams, student evaluations, and our brown bag series. This position also includes teaching two graduate courses per semester and one in the summer. The PhD Program in Clinical Psychology is well-supported by an engaged doctoral faculty that take pride in its diverse student body. The Associate DCT works closely with and is supervised by the Director of Clinical Training (DCT), who leads the doctoral faculty and oversees program accreditation, curriculum, policies and procedures, funding, and student enrollment, progress, and remediation. Position is a two-year, twelve-month, non-tenure track appointment, with eligibility for reappointment based on established NTTP procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must have a PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology or related field. Applicants must have graduated from an APA-accredited program and completed an APA-accredited internship. Applicants must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a psychologist in New Jersey. Strong administrative and teaching skills are essential.

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) is Montclair State’s largest college, with over 5,000 undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students. The Psychology Department—organized into the three broad areas of clinical psychology, industrial/organizational (I/O) psychology, and psychological science—serves a large and diverse constituency of students and is comprised of a vibrant group of 35 full-time faculty, including research faculty, teaching faculty, and support staff. The Department is home to over 1,500 undergraduates, many of whom seek to continue at Montclair in our graduate programs. In addition to our clinical PhD program, the Psychology Department offers a PhD program in I/O psychology, as well as several master’s and certification programs, including a master’s program in clinical psychology. Faculty in the Department are highly successful in securing extramural funding, providing support for students and robust research activities. In a period of considerable growth, the Department has hired many dynamic faculty, on both teaching and research tracks, who enjoy collaboration and are committed to student success, having chosen the Department for its record of supporting curricular innovation in response to disciplinary developments and the needs and interests of our students. The faculty members have diverse backgrounds, and we experience success in helping new faculty acclimate to the Department and University. The core faculty of the PhD Program in Clinical Psychology include senior, mid-career, and junior faculty who are equally committed to their students and the program.
