**Job Summary**
The School of Education at the University of Colorado Boulder seeks one full-time assistant teaching professor in the Equity, Bilingualism, and Biliteracy (EBB) program beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year. We seek to hire a faculty member who is committed to teacher education focused on the preparation of teachers who will work with all students, including bilingual learners and students with disabilities. Our new hire will demonstrate evidence of strong U.S.-based PK-12 teaching with emergent bilingual students, as well as experience teaching university undergraduate or graduate elementary teacher education courses.

**Who We Are**
This faculty member will work at the intersection of the Elementary Education and Equity, Bilingualism and Biliteracy (EBB) programs in the School of Education. In EBB, we are devoted to the critical examination of theory, practice, and policy. We stress analysis, evaluation, and implementation of educational programs for students who represent diverse learning needs. Our BA in Elementary Education, aims to prepare reflective, ethical, and inclusive elementary (K-6) teachers.

**What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be**
+ This faculty member will be expected to teach in and contribute to the continued development of our BA in Elementary Education program, which prepares teachers for elementary licensure.
+ They will additionally contribute to EBB's Master of Arts programs. Coursework in the BA and MA programs includes courses focused on language acquisition, foundations of bilingual education, assessment of bilingual learners, methods of bi-literacy and language development, as well as field-based seminars and field support during practicum experiences and student teaching.
+ This new member of our community will engage in activities surrounding the mission of the School of Education including participation, outreach and leadership in local, school, campus, and larger communities.

+ This is a 3-year appointment, renewable upon successful reappointment.
+ This role is located in Boulder, CO.
+ A typical teaching and service load for this role is 80% teaching and 20% service. Teaching faculty are expected to teach seven courses per academic year, and all courses are typically taught in person on campus.
**What We Can Offer**
The salary range for this nine-month faculty role is $65,000 - $75,000. Relocation may be offered up to 5% of base salary.

**What We Require**
+ PhD or EdD (conferred by August 2025) in bilingual education, biliteracy, educational linguistics, language and literacy, teacher education or a related field.
+ We seek a scholar with expertise and teaching experience in PK-12 U.S., with a particular focus on working with bilingual populations and/or students with disabilities. The candidate should demonstrate rigorous and theoretically grounded teacher education approaches for preparing teacher candidates in ways that seek to improve the educational experiences of bi/multilingual children and youth in U.S. public schools.
