This is a grant funded position that will end in 30 months. The employee in the position primary focus will be in the 37207 zip code. The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) is a 24/7/365 operation. Whether you are a sworn or civilian employee, you will be responsible for the general welfare of the citizens of Nashville and Davidson County. You will be responsible for ensuring optimum communications both within Metro and between Metro and the general public. Typical Duties + Overseeing the purchasing and tracking of equipment and training funded by grant. + Collaborating with the VCIF TCCRP Site Coordinator to evaluate the success of the program. + Collaborating with the Juvenile Crime Control Program and other organizations to track progress of outreach services. + Collecting data for program and report outcomes. + The applicant assigned to this unit shall coordinate information sharing across numerous platforms, ranks, and divisions. + The applicant assigned to this unit will also provide support to major and special events. + The applicant must have the ability to take on special projects, to be proactive regarding current and future technology needs. + The applicant assigned to this unit shall be able to perform public speaking assignments in the community. + The applicant must be proactive and highly motivated. + Evaluate incoming CAD information to detect emerging crime patterns or other significant events. + Relay information between VCIF TCCRP Site Coordinator and other organizations. Minimum Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Any combination of education and experience that would prepare the incumbent to perform duties of the position at the appropriate level. Employees would typically have a Bachelor's Degree plus some (1-2 Years) professional experience in an administrative, financial, technical, or related field. Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply. Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078. All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.
