Assistant Transportation Manager
Location: 630 John Hancock Rd
Gordon Food Service delivers daily to restaurants, healthcare operations, and schools so our customers depend on us- and we depend on our transportation team for excellence! Join our team as an Assistant Transportation Manager and help ensure the efficient and economical delivery of Gordon Food Service products
As an Assistant Transportation Manager, no two days are the same, but typically you'll be involved in the following:
Leadership - driver meetings, mentoring, motivating, ride-along/coaching trips, and training
Team Management - participation in interviewing, hiring, training, performance assessments, and recognition
Operational Management - route balancing, dispatch, equipment assignments, backhaul scheduling
Regulatory Oversight - DOT, Federal, State, and Local regulations
Route Coverage - during vacations and absences
Schedule: 5 Day Work Week Monday - Saturday

Does this look like you?
At least 21 years of age
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Class A Commercial Drivers License
CDL-T certification preferred
5 of previous transportation experience and/or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
2 years of consecutive leadership experience
Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs with or without a reasonable accommodation
Ability to operate a two-wheel cart with loads of up to 350 pounds
Clean driving record; as required by DOT and Gordon Food Service standards
Successfully passing a drug test that will assess drug usage and a background check
Must have knowledge of DOT, OSHA, Smith System (Keys to Safe Driving), and dispatch procedures
