The Assistant Vice Chancellor of Finance provides direct leadership for the management of financial and business affairs including the overall administration of the budget process, maintenance of internal accounting controls, development of financial policies and procedures, the production of timely and accurate financial reports, and the procurement of goods and services. The Assistant Vice Chancellor for Finance will develop and prepare the college’s Annual Fiscal Report (AFR) and manage the development and implantation of the annual budget process. This position will play an active role in the day-to-day management and strategic guidance of the following departments and functions: + Finance and Accounting + Budgeting + Purchasing + Property Management 25% + Provides day-to-day leadership, supervises, and coordinates the activities related to all financial affairs to include the following areas: finance and accounting, budgeting, purchasing, and property management. This position is also responsible for the development and management of the operating budget for these areas. 15% + Provides critical insight and analyses to support strategic planning, goals setting, and key policy and decision-making. 10% + Directs the development and maintenance of the college’s annual budget. 10% + Develops and prepares the college’s annual financial report and other interim or ad hoc financial reports as needed. 10% + Establishes and maintains strong collaborative relationships within the finance and administration division and across the college as a whole. 10% + Relied upon for financial and accounting expertise to participate on various committees, interact with senior level leaders, and other higher education administrators. 5% + Develops policy and procedure manuals for areas of responsibility. 5% + Reviews, revise, and implements suitable electronic data management systems to provide for proper management and control of college assets and/or resources. 5% + Functions as the liaison with the Louisiana Legislative Auditor for the college’s annual financial audit. 5% + Assists the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration in his/her function as Chief Financial Officer of the college.
