Assistant Vice President, Enterprise Risk Management

The AVP will work in Chubb’s Enterprise Risk Management Unit to help advance Chubb’s capabilities in Cyber risk management and catastrophe modeling, by advancing our understanding of the drivers and impacts of Cyber catastrophe risk. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong critical thinking skills, creativity, and potential for thought leadership, being able to understand the implications of observed trends and developments related to Cyber insurance, and apply them to assess, quantify and help mitigate Cyber cat risk. They would be comfortable with applying creative approaches to modeling in the absence of historical data.

Success requires a combination of strong technical skills, experience with and understanding of P&C insurance risk modeling and Cyber risk, and the ability to identify business implications of research and analysis. The successful candidate will partner closely with a wide range of business stakeholders including underwriting, actuarial and reinsurance and will demonstrate strength in communicating technical concepts and implications of technical analyses and modeling to a non-technical or executive audience.

Develop Cyber catastrophe scenarios based on an understanding of trends and drivers impacting Cyber risk. This may involve primary and secondary research and analysis of claims data. Quantify the impact of Cyber risk on Chubb, by assessing the impact of the scenarios as above, developing Cyber risk models in house, and using vendor developed risk models. Critically evaluate modeling solutions and analytical capabilities available in the market, identifying gaps and areas of improvement. Pursue improvements in data quality used for modeling. Support reinsurance purchase decisions based on modeling of cyber risk. Contribute to the production of monthly or quarterly reports and presentations to various executive and Board committees. Degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial)5-10 years of experience in Cyber Actuarial or Enterprise Risk Management Function.Strong business acumen and technical knowledge of Cyber insurance products. Detail oriented with the ability to manage complex processes and competing priorities to successfully complete projects and meet required deadlines.A self-starter with the ability and confidence to use experience and judgement with minimal supervision or direction.Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to present analyses to technical and non-technical audiences. Strong relationship building skills with ability to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams. 

The pay range for the role is $102,000 to $168,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
