Assistant Vice President - Commercial Lines

Job Purpose:

To lead a servicing team, as well as service existing accounts and coordinate account activity primarily on middle market insurance accounts. Must have real estate experience.

Functions & Responsibilities:

Lead servicing teamService and monitor unit accounts and disseminate account activityEvaluate existing coverages and make recommendations as needed. Round out accounts as opportunities arise.Review contracts as required.Receive, review and forward invoices, policies, endorsements and other documents as necessaryPrepare specifications and applications for marketing new and renewal businessHeavy client contact and insurance company interaction and negotiation as neededMarket specialized coverages as neededFormulate proposal for presentationAuthorize the release of Certificates of Insurance, Accord Binders, and Placement RequestsReview and audit policies for compliance with internal procedures and in accordance with binders specificationClient visits - as necessary to ensure client satisfactionAttend staff and Account Executive meetingsPursue a program of professional developmentApply (basic) proficiency of loss analysis, SIRs, Retrospective Rating/loss sensitive plans on account activity as neededAssure proper disposition of items on expiration lists

Qualifications:

College degree or equivalent work experienceMinimum of 7 years experience in brokerage, consulting, or insurance companyExperience supervising and leading a team consisting of account executives and assistantsExcellent analytical & problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communications skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsComputer literate in Word, Excel, and PowerPointHighly detail-orientedAbility to multi-taskMust have valid P&C license

The expected pay range for this position is $150,000 to $160,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and work location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include health/dental/vision/life/disability insurance, FSA, HSA and 401(k) accounts, paid-time-off benefits, and commissions for some positions.
