**POSITION DETAILS**

The Assistant Vice President for Administration and Finance is a senior executive leader reporting directly to the Dean of the Zicklin School of Business. This role drives strategic vision, operational excellence, and financial stewardship across all administrative and fiscal functions of the Zicklin School. Acting as a key advisor to the Dean and senior leadership, the Assistant Vice President works to align initiatives with the school’s mission and goals, ensuring an innovative, inclusive, and high-performing academic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Institutional Collaboration
• Serve as a strategic advisor, partnering with the Dean and leadership team to develop and execute the school’s long-term vision and operational strategy.
• Lead talent management efforts, overseeing recruitment, professional development, performance management, and retention strategies, ensuring alignment with budget and institutional priorities.
• Cultivate an inclusive, collaborative culture across faculty, staff, advisory councils, and other key stakeholders.
• Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts to advance the school’s commitment to a welcoming and supportive environment.
Financial Strategy & Budget Management
• Direct comprehensive budget and financial operations, overseeing the management of tax levy, Baruch College Fund, BAR55, and RF CUNY accounts, and adapt to evolving financial structures.
• Collaborate closely with the College’s Budget Office and Controller to align financial planning with institutional priorities, ensuring fiscal sustainability and transparency.
• Provide leadership in resource allocation, space design, and improvements in workplace policies to enhance operational efficiency.
Operational Excellence & Technology Oversight
• Lead the development and implementation of strategic operational initiatives across multiple departments, ensuring alignment with the school’s strategic goals.
• Oversee information technology functions in partnership with Baruch Computing and Technology Center (BCTC) to drive digital transformation and operational efficiency.
• Guide data management and evidence-based decision-making practices to foster an environment of continuous improvement.
Faculty & Staff Administration
• Oversee faculty and staff administrative functions, including workload and performance reporting, to ensure compliance and operational accuracy.
• Partner with department chairs on faculty and staff performance, development, and disciplinary matters, fostering a supportive, high-performance culture.
• Lead and set the agenda for Zicklin faculty and chair meetings, working closely with academic leaders to ensure alignment with institutional goals.
Accreditation & Compliance
• Oversee all reporting functions to the College, CUNY, and AACSB, ensuring compliance with accreditation requirements and quality standards.
• Lead the development of Continuous Improvement Reports for AACSB accreditation in business and accounting and coordinate accreditation visits in alignment with a six-year review cycle.
Marketing, Branding & Communication
• Direct the school’s marketing, branding, and communications strategies to promote Zicklin’s mission, initiatives, and achievements across various platforms.
• Represent the Dean in key forums, including the Zicklin Executive Committee, college-wide events, and other high-profile engagements to advance the school’s strategic agenda.
Program & Event Coordination
• Lead the planning and execution of strategic events, including new faculty orientations and faculty recognition ceremonies, to enhance integration and celebrate achievements.
• Partner with institutional research to advance data-informed practices across the school’s programs and initiatives.
Special Projects & Strategic Initiatives
• Support the Dean and Strategic Planning Committee on high-priority initiatives, serving as a key leader on special projects that drive the Zicklin School’s mission forward.
Direct Supervision
The Assistant Vice President for Administration and Finance directly oversees a team, including:
I. HEO Administrative Officer
II. HEO Communications and Marketing Director
III. HEA Communications and Marketing Manager
IV. HEA Institutional Research Specialist
V. HEA Academic Affairs Manager
VI. HEO IT and Academic Technology Director
In this role, the Assistant Vice President for Administration and Finance is a trusted leader and advisor to the Dean, collaborating closely with Baruch College and CUNY leadership to advance the Zicklin School’s goals and mission.
**QUALIFICATIONS**

This position is in CUNY’s Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and eight years’ related experience.
Other Qualifications:
• PhD in a business or related discipline required
• Scholarship accomplishments at the level of a tenured full professor
• Minimum 8 years of experience in an academic position at an institution of higher education, inclusive of at least four years of department chair experience and preferably with an administrative appointment
• Strong leadership and organizational skills, oral and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills
• Strong strategic planning and analytical skills, and proven ability to make data-driven decisions
• Demonstrated knowledge of AACSB accreditation standards, reporting requirements and procedures
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work in partnership with other campus stakeholders

**COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS**
The salary range is $190,554-$251,078. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
