What you’ll do

The Assistant Vice President - Facilities is a seasoned real estate professional with a comprehensive background in facilities management, data center and critical systems management.  This role is pivotal in leading both internal and external teams to ensure the strategic planning, managerial direction, and operational control of TJX’s corporate facilities, which span approximately 2.5 million square feet, including the corporate headquarters and the Tier III LEED Certified Corporate Technology Center.  The job reports to the SVP Workplace Services (WPS).

 

As the AVP of Facilities & Energy Management, your core responsibilities will include:

Oversee facility management functions in the US Home Offices and data center spaces, and ensure successful operation of critical computer rooms, critical infrastructure and support systems.Provide leadership to the Facilities Managers and Team supporting maintenance operations.Develop and implement strategic plans in alignment with TJX’s / WPS overarching goals.Create and manage operational, energy, and capital improvement budgets, ensuring adherence to financial constraints, including annual budget of $70M for ongoing maintenance and over $20M for annual capital projects with payroll responsibilities over $2MForecast and plan facility improvements, focusing on energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness.Ensure compliance with building and safety codes, hazardous waste disposal, OSHA regulations, and hazardous materials handling, Mass DEP and EPA regulatory compliance. Maintain up-to-date knowledge in facilities management and maintenance; establish and update related policies and procedures.Manage facilities vendor program, including contract negotiations and regulatory compliance.Manage preventative and reactive maintenance programs.Collaborate with other internal teams in WPS and other vendors including architects and contractors to deliver real estate projects within WPS.Support space planning and design team efforts with move, add, and change processes/projects.

 

What you’ll need (Minimum Qualifications)

 

Minimum 12+ years of experience in the electrical, mechanical, building construction and/or property management profession field, including 10+ years leading and managing Facilities professionals/teamsComprehensive understanding of physical plant operations, maintenance, repair, planning, scheduling, and administrationPrior knowledge and experience working with HVAC, mechanical, electrical systems, and life safety protocolsFamiliarity with federal, state, and local regulations regarding safety, fire, construction, and public access, along with a thorough understanding of blueprints and building codesPrevious experience managing capital improvement budgets, forecasting costs, and payrollProven ability to build, lead, and coach high-performing Facilities teamsStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate with vendors, while maintaining positive relationshipsAbility to balance multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing prioritiesMust be willing and able to complete the following tasks unassisted: drive, walk, bend, squat, reach, stretch; lift over 25 llbs; and ascend/descend ladders and stairs

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Facilities, MBA preferredLicensed or formerly licensed Electrician or Building MechanicExperience working globally with a portfolio of buildings

This position has a starting salary range of $139,900 to $181,700 per year.

 

Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

 

This position is eligible for an annual incentive as well as long-term incentives.
