JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the UVACH Medical Group Chief Operating and Growth Officer, the Assistant Vice President (AVP), UVA Community Health Medical Group is responsible for operational management of all physician practices, including new program development, health care delivery innovations, and performance improvement oversight required to achieve multi-specialty objectives, growth, and positioning of a community based medical group within an evolving academic-based health system.
This leader will directly manage all Directors of Operations and ensure the team delivers on strategic goals, and plans of UVA Health. They will design and lead efforts to optimize access, reduce costs, enhance revenues, meet performance and quality goals, and utilize information to develop and support management decisions.
The AVP will work in partnership with physicians and advanced practice providers, leaders, team members, and community leaders.
The AVP must be able to work collaboratively and effectively in a matrixed environment. She/he will need to manage the expectations of stakeholders throughout the organization..
The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of principles, standards, and models of health system owned physician practice operations. They will be highly skilled in influencing others, building new programs, improving infrastructure, and executing complex change at a fast pace. The ideal AVP candidate will possess a strong business acumen, exemplary ownership and accountability skills, and an unfaltering drive to succeed.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of team members that includes budget authority, hire/termination authority, performance appraisal responsibility, and progressive discipline authority.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's Degree - Business/Healthcare Administration or related field; Master's Degree preferred.
Experience: Five years of demonstrated leadership experience in relevant area of responsibility required. Experience in a for profit healthcare environment or an ambulatory surgical setting strongly preferred.
