Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._ **Responsibilities:** GENERAL PURPOSE: Directs and takes final responsibility for the day-to-day program decisions and activities required to meet the annual enrollment goals for the population of the University. Directs the recruitment, evaluation, and selection of all students seeking entrance to the institution. Initiates new programs and procedures that refine the effectiveness and efficiency. Directs office operations and staff activities. Manages staff, makes hiring decisions, provides coaching, training and mentoring, manages performance and determines staffing needs. **WHEN APPLYING A COVER LETTER IS REQUIRED ALONG WITH YOUR RESUME.** **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** + Oversees and implements procedures for activities, admissions processes’, recruiting and associated travel, special programs, marketing, and research in consultation and with the agreement of the Vice Provost, the Director sets overall Admission Office policies. + Supervises and evaluates senior staff as they carry out their delegated responsibilities and supervisory roles; supervises multiple Senior Associate Directors/Associate Directors/Project Directors in different phases of the admissions process; diversity and outreach, scholarship, faculty engagement & admissions training, veteran and other enrollment initiatives such as new software implementations, research and long-range planning, and planning and monitoring of admissions travel activities; supervises duties regarding daily office operations, budget, special marketing plans, and their implementation and oversight of the admissions/alumni/faculty/student efforts to meet enrollment goals from The College. + In conjunction with the Vice Provost, takes responsibility for personnel decisions which include interviewing candidates; selection and oversight of new Admissions staff; meeting with staff regarding current workload, job responsibilities, changes in job duties that may include reclassifications, and day-to-day matters. + Takes final responsibility for the effectiveness of Admissions’ staff activities; training of staff, alumni, and students, interviewing prospective students, application review, recruitment travel, planning special projects, oversight of marketing activities, correspondence, and research. + Represents the Admissions Office at meetings within the University; meeting regularly with directors and deans. + Represents the University at regional and national professional meetings and conferences. In conjunction with the Vice Provost, speaks for the University; makes presentations, writes letters, articles, and communications information for the media. Makes frequent admission presentations at secondary schools and at receptions for students, families, counselors, and alumni. + Maintains large amounts of correspondence within the University and with outside entities and constituents; prospective students, families, college counselors, alumni, colleagues from other institutions, and other educational representatives. + Interviews prospective students and performs various other general admissions activities. + Reads extensively in order to stay abreast of changes in higher education and particularly in the marketing world of admissions. **MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE** + Master's degree and 5 years of leadership experience in the management of enrollments, marketing and other related admissions activities required + Or equivalent combination of education and experience **EOE Minorities / Females / Protected Veterans / Disabled:** The University of Rochester is committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion to advance the University’s mission to Learn, Discover, Heal, Create – and Make the World Ever Better.
