LC State invites applications for the position of Assistant Volleyball Coach/Tournament Manager.
Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $47,325
Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university
Required Qualifications:
Previous volleyball coaching and/or college volleyball participation experience
Experience working/coordinating events
Applicant must be able to exert physical effort or activity that may include but is not limited to lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods of time, and perform a high volume of repetitions in using the legs to jump, shuffle, squat, walk, or jog and the shoulders, arms, and hands to push, pull, throw, swing, or toss.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university
Responsibilities:
Evaluate and recruit prospective student-athletes to LCSC by identifying academically qualified and athletically talented prospects, communicate to build relationships with prospects, prospect parents, and prospect coaches. Coordinate campus recruiting visits. Encourage prospect application/ matriculation.
Assist in planning and implementing of all aspects of the women's volleyball program, including team organization and composition, player selection and evaluation, practice planning and supervision, and competition planning, scouting and strategy.
Instruct team members, individually and in groups, in sport-related skills and techniques, particularly in skills and events as assigned by the Head Coach.
Participate directly and/or advise the Head Coach on matters related to team discipline, player counseling, etc., requiring discretion, sound decision-making, and independent judgment.
Develop, implement, and manage the team's weight training and conditioning program in collaboration with the head coach.
Create, implement, and manage the team's social media accounts in collaboration with the head coach.
Oversee the organization and maintenance of all program equipment, clothing apparel, and necessary items for the program to operate.
Manage and maintain all video aspects of practices, competition, and scouting opponents. Including maintaining Hudl library, uploading to BallTime, and other video needs in collaboration with the head coach.
Organize, market, and coach at youth camps, youth clinics, and other camps as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or supervising athletic administrator - including but not limited to AAU tournament director.
Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support recruitment and retention of students.
