Location: Oneonta, NY Category: Professional Posted On: Tue Nov 19 2024 Job Description: Join us as an Assistive Technology Specialist and play a key role in enhancing accessibility and supporting inclusion across our campus. Expectations include developing, implementing, and monitoring SUNY Oneonta's assistive technology services with the aim of supporting students registered through Accessibility Resources. Additional expectations include working in a team-oriented environment and supporting everyday functions of the office including tasks related to testing accommodations and providing daily student support. Accessibility Resources partners with students, faculty, and other university resources to design accessible environments and to coordinate accommodations for students entitled to them under federal legislation. The Office plays a crucial role in furthering the institution's commitments to the principles of diversity and inclusion. Duties include but not limited to: + Providing ongoing technological support, training, modeling, and evaluation related to equipment, programs, and tools designed to support students registered with Accessibility Resources. + Supporting and training registered students in the use of SUNY Oneonta's assistive technologies. + Developing and maintaining Accessibility Resources' webpage. + Maintaining an inventory of department assistive equipment and technology, including software. + Conducting on-going needs assessments and evaluations to determine the effectiveness of technology and make recommendations for future technology needs. + Assuming primary responsibility for the data management system.
