Job Summary University of Kentucky HealthCare is seeking an Associate Chief Advanced Practice Officer (ACAPO) to collaborate with the Chief Advanced Practice Officer (CAPO) in providing visionary leadership and optimizing the utilization of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) across UK HealthCare. In this pivotal role, you will drive clinical excellence, foster collaboration, and ensure operational efficiency while contributing to exceptional patient care, innovation, and professional development. Core Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Lead the optimization of APP practices and procedures, ensuring alignment with UK HealthCare’s mission, vision, and values. Recruitment & Retention: Oversee APP recruitment and retention efforts by implementing best practices. Collaborate with HealthCare Talent Acquisition to build a strong pipeline of skilled APPs through partnerships with local and regional colleges. Professional Development: Cultivate a learning culture by providing coaching, mentoring, and training opportunities for APPs. Assist in developing a succession plan to support the future state of advanced practice at UK HealthCare. Compliance & Collaboration: Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and UK policies. Collaborate with departmental leadership and employee relations to address performance and behavior-related feedback consistently and appropriately. Continuous Improvement: Foster communication through regular staff meetings, monitor the work environment for improvement opportunities, and implement initiatives to enhance APP operations and patient care.

Requirements: Education: Master’s degree in nursing (MSN) or Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) Experience: Minimum of 7 years of progressive APP experience, including supervisory roles. Licenses & Certifications: Active board certification as an APRN or PA-C. with an active Kentucky APRN or PA license (or ability to obtain license by start date) Skills: Strong communication, leadership, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage time effectively, and foster professional relationships. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Active KY APRN license and board certification (or can obtain before date of hire), or active Physician Assistant license. Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? Yes Preferred Education/Experience 7 years of progressive Advanced Practice leadership preferred, including supervisory experience.
