Summary:
+ The Associate Director of the Access Center is responsible for ensuring all areas in the Access Center achieve Practice and Access Center performance and service targets. This includes proactively diagnosing root causes when areas are not achieving performance and service targets, defining and implementing action steps to achieve improved performance and communicating to Manager and Practice Leadership on an ongoing basis. Optimize current and future departmental processes and systems that focus on patient experience, access, EPIC and revenue cycle. Educate and instill operational improvement techniques to managers and supervisors. Partner with key practice and hospital leadership to foster transparency and collaboration in improving operations and patient experience
Responsibilities:
+ Serves as senior onsite administrator for Access Center.
+ Partner with director to establish Dept goals and KPIs. Responsible to implement strategy across Access Center
+ Collaborates with Workforce manager, Access Center consultant and project manager to drive and improve operations
+ Responsible for all department operations across Access Center. Serve as a primary liaison between practices and Access Center Leadership.
+ Interacts with staff in all practices in Access Center.
+ Ability to analyze data to assess and drive operational decisions and improvement
+ In conjunction with Director, develop and manage annual operating budget
+ Partner with finance to ensure changes in budget, FTE status and explain variances
+ Continually assesses operating procedures and takes action to assure ongoing quality improvement
+ Implements effective management reporting tools to be used to measure progress and improvement against patient service, financial and operating standards
+ Assures pre-processing process standards are met. Tracks impact on revenue cycle for specified practices
+ Oversight of all staffing and resources across Access Center
+ Oversees all areas of scheduling & registration processes for all practices
+ Partners with Director in planning capital budget
+ Oversees and partners with IS to correct system issues and problems that impact services provided by the Access Center.
+ Identifies & evaluates current and new system technology to improve overall performance of Access Center.
+ Responsible for the management of personnel and staffing
+ Collaborates with practice and hospital leadership to achieve desired patient outcomes, solve problems and improve processes
+ Collaborates with Practice and hospital Leadership to achieve identified goals and develop annual work plans
+ Oversees all change management strategies within Department and UPHS in alignment with UPHS objectives.
+ Establishes clear communication of change management strategies with all key stakeholders
+ Meets regularly with Director to review department operations, discuss progress and obstacles to achieving established goals, and to receive feedback
Education or Equivalent Experience:
+ Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
+ 5+ years progressive management experience, preferably in healthcare setting with emphasis in Patient Access (Required)
+ Master of Arts or Science (Preferred)
