IQVIA™ Medical Affairs is seeking a Associate Director, Operations Effectiveness to support and drive implementation of key strategic business initiatives across the Medical Affairs businesses. About the Associate Director, Operations Effectiveness position:


Lead complex, highly visible, global projects for the Operational Effectiveness Services (OES) delivering innovative solutions that identify and accelerate operational productivity improvements, optimization, and efficiency across Medical Affairs. Cross-functional project engagements will drive collaboration while resolving business obstacles ensuring high quality, timely, on budget deliverables in accordance with SOPs, policies, and practices. As subject matter expert will sustain and improve the OES’s commitment to being the center for operational productivity measurement, optimization, and efficiency through change and process improvement increasing value-add throughout the organization.

Essential Functions

Serve as lead and advisor for large scale, cross functional, global projects across OES core services, functional groups, and regions with a data capture, project planning, change/data/process management, compilation, and high quality deliverable generation focus.In conjunction with OES senior/executive management will provide expert review regarding the scope and types of initiatives appropriate for OES engagement.Participate in initiative response/development and presentations providing project expertise.Maintain knowledge of current OES initiatives and staff resourcing to provide input enabling sound decision making regarding OES initiative selection, methodology, and scope.Initiate and lead discussions with RWS global operations, Medical Affairs businesses, OES management, and executive management teams to determine project scope, timelines, and feasibility for assigned project(s).Evaluate and provide feedback regarding risks, quality, and overall probability of success to minimize negative impact on project objectives and deliverables.Manages project activities for staff responsible for project analysis, planning, strategy, and implementation, ensuring projects are meeting or exceeding timelines and expectations enabling successful implementation.Provide advice, support and guidance as needed to serve as mentor to colleagues.Serve as knowledge expert for service area and contact for senior and executive management reporting on assigned initiatives.Review and approve optimal techniques such as Statistical Process Control, Six Sigma, SPC and other process / data analysis techniques necessary to analyze global process improvement initiatives and align process with overall strategy ensuring alignment and incorporation with overall strategy.Identify and establish transparent, successful collaboration with internal stakeholders: OES, RWS, Medical Affairs businessesLead high level presentations to OES and executive management.Contribute to discussions regarding implementation of OES strategy on a global basis as needed.Resolve and escalate issues in a professional and timely fashion.Manage staff in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable regulations. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and guiding professional development; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems. Approve actions on human resources matters.Strong partnership with other IQVIA Communications functional teams to ensure excellence in delivery and high customer satisfactionDrives assessment, creation and maintenance of technology tools, systems and processes to streamline business operations across functions, collaborating with Real World Solutions Global Operations team and leveraging LEAN approaches whilst aligning with RWS ways of working and operational systems

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in business, or related field and a minimum of 10 years of experience in relevant function (e.g. clinical operations, applied math, IT, data management, business, or laboratory), minimum of 5 years of project management experience; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Req5 years experience in people leading across multiple marketsExperience in leading process improvement initiatives across multiple functionsLean Six Sigma qualifications & Experience of driving Lean process to improve the tools, technology and systems utilized by a diverse teamUnderstanding of the importance of metrics and meaningful KPIs to support the running of a successful businessExperience of IQVIA platforms such as Smartsheet, SAP, PSA, Salesforce, Peoplesoft preferred
