NW Washington, Washington, DC 20068 United States Dist of Columbia,Map Additional Locations Carneys Point 5 Collins Drive Carneys Point, New Jersey 08069 United States Salem,Map Primary Purpose PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION The Associate Interconnection Specialist plays an important role in the Distributed Energy Resource (DER) interconnection process by efficiently and accurately processing customer and developer applications for interconnection and acting as the primary point of contact for applicants throughout the interconnection life cycle. The Associate Interconnection Specialist has responsibility to establish and maintain positive, effective working relationships with developers and customers seeking to interconnect DERs to the distribution system, while delivering a Premier Customer Experience throughout the process. Primary Duties PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Develop and maintain productive relationships with customers, developers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure a Premier Customer Experience with the interconnection process. Act as a liaison with applicants throughout the interconnection life cycle to address their needs and expectations. This includes developing skills to assist applicants with routine navigation and use of online interconnection tools; and providing guidance to, and resolving a variety of routine issues for, applicants such as applicable regulatory requirements and tariffs, and addressing incomplete or inaccurate applications. (10%) Process routine customer and developer applications for interconnection of DERs, received either via the online interconnection application tool, email, or via hard copy application. This includes initial review of applications for completeness and technical accuracy and processing associated payments from customers. (10%) Process the required interconnection documentation in a timely and efficient manner (e.g., applications, study agreements, contracts, certificates of completion, permission to operate) with customers and developers. (10%) Build and leverage effective working relationships with internal and external process stakeholders, and facilitate timely, efficient, and effective workflow between stakeholder organizations (60%) Ensure accurate and timely input of information into the tool, including communications with applicants, uploading relevant documentation, and maintaining current application status. (5%) Interface with various Exelon enterprise programs and systems (e.g., Asset Suite 8) to facilitate processing of interconnection applications, and produce status, performance, and other process reports, as needed. (5%) Job Scope JOB SCOPE The Associate Interconnection Specialist is an individual contributor that generally works under direct supervision and follows standard procedures to accomplish assigned tasks. The Associate Interconnection Specialist communicates the status and next steps for interconnection applications with developers and individual customers. The Associate Interconnection Specialist works as part of the team to address general inquiries and interconnection requests and determines when to refer more complex issues to higher levels. The Associate Interconnection Specialist will develop the skills to become the customer "point person" for interconnection projects and ensures the timely transfer of information with customers and developers, while facilitating efficient, seamless processing of the customers' applications throughout the interconnection life cycle. This role is critical to the successful implementation of customer interconnection projects, and continued compliance with regulatory requirements for interconnection of distributed generation facilities. Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies. Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Bachelor's degree with 0-2 years of experience; or in lieu of a degree, 1-3 years of relevant business experience. Experience demonstrating skill providing a Premier Customer Experience, including: o Investigating, resolving and following up on customer inquiries; o Using a customer information system to verify applicant information, if necessary, Experience demonstrating skill building and maintaining professional relationships. Experience demonstrating skill using PC-based word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, and e-mail software and the Internet portal to perform work functions. Ability to understand basic electrical concepts (e.g., voltage, current, power, energy) Ability and willingness to adhere to applicable safety regulations and policies, and to demonstrate a commitment to safety. Must successfully pass a Criminal History Background Check which consists of a 7-year criminal records check for felony convictions, if applicable Preferred: Preferred Qualifications PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Basic knowledge of utility distribution grid interconnections, net metering, renewable energy Basic knowledge of enterprise programs and systems that enable distribution interconnections, such as Asset Suite 8, GIS, customer information systems, etc. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field Ability to understand regulatory issues affecting DER interconnection and metering. Experience demonstrating skill using utility or industry customer information systems. Benefits Annual salary will vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors:USD $59,200.00/Yr. - USD $88,800.00/Yr.
