Lab Division: Protein Sciences & Mass Spec (PSMS)

The PSMS team monitors biomarkers released by the body in response to disease, treatments, and new drugs using immunoassays and mass spectrometry. Decisions made from the data generated from biomarker studies drives therapeutic selection and optimization as well as the understanding of biological pathways all enabling the translation of laboratory findings to the clinic as smoothly as possible. Our team apply the most ground breaking biomarker technology to support a wide range of clinical trials for drug development in areas including oncology, immuno-sciences, cardiovascular, and fibrosis.

A day in the Life:

We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to be part of the TM (Translational Medicine) PSMS team.  The primary purpose of this position is to develop, validate and implement bioanalytical assays to evaluate biomarkers in biological samples to support drug development and filings of INDs, NDAs and other regulatory submissions.

Directly contribute to development of methods for protein biomarker characterization.

Contribute to establishment of lab workflows for protein biomarkers analysis.

Contribute to efforts to explore the utility of the novel technology in clinical biomarker development.

Conduct clinical sample biomarker analysis.


 

Education and Experience:  

Bachelor's degree in relevant life sciences or related program.

AND 6+ years of experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job.

OR Master’s degree in relevant program AND 4+ years of applicable experience

OR PhD in relevant program and 2+ years of applicable experience

In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Thorough and on-going knowledge in relevant field, i.e. analytical biochemistry, immunology, cell biology or molecular biology

Broad experience with and theoretical understanding of multiple analytical techniques in appropriate field such as Luminex, MSD, ELISA, Sp-X, Olink, Western and qPCR/ddPCR. Experience with Octet®️ BLI platform is a plus.

Well established analytical expertise accompanied by proven troubleshooting skills.

Knowledge in the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of pertinent laboratory instruments.

Experience with computers and laboratory data acquisition and analysis systems, i.e. word-processing, presentation graphics, spreadsheets and use of data processing software.

Demonstrated ability to develop, validate and troubleshoot bioanalytical methods, document analytical data and interpret the significant results.

Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic team-oriented environment to successfully achieve objectives.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are required.

Ability to think creatively and innovate.
