Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Associate, Anatomy Contouring – Radiation Oncology, Cancer Center.
The radiation oncology anatomy specialist should possess a deep knowledge of human anatomy. You will be responsible for meticulously identifying critical structures within a patient’s body to ensure precise radiation delivery while minimizing damage to healthy tissues. Using specialized software in combination with CT scans or MRI images to precisely delineate the location and extent of tumors, as well as surrounding critical organs and tissues like blood vessels,nerves, and spinal cord. Your responsibility also includes tasks like fusion of imaging and working closely with dosimetrist, physicist and physicians to ensure accuracy. The Anatomy specialist must exhibit excellent communication, computer and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be able to maintain high standards of precision and accuracy. Must demonstrates excellent communication, computer, and interpersonal skills. Should be adept at working independently and as part of a team, consistently upholding high standards of precision and accuracy. This fast-paced professional environment requires a scrupulous attention for detail and a positive attitude. Should possess an understanding of radiation therapy, oncology, medical terminology and anatomy, including the location and shape of various organs and tissues.
Job Responsibilities:
Precisely identify and plot anatomic contours to support radiation treatment planning for cancer patients.Scan fusions using medical images, like CTs and MRIs..
Ability to clearly communicate complex anatomical information to team members, physicist, dosimetrist, physicians and other medical staff.
Familiarity with specialized software used for treatment planning, contouring and dose calculations.
Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
trace the boundaries of anatomical structures on medical images, creating precise 3D contours.
Utilize and apply knowledge of anatomy, radiation therapy, oncology, and medical terminology.
Being able to precisely identify and delineate the exact boundaries of the tumor (Gross Tumor Volume – GTV) and surrounding critical structures (Organs at Risk – OARs) on the imaging, allowing the radiation oncologist to design a precise radiation treatment plan
Adhere to all departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned by Chief of Dosimetry, Director of Physics or Director of MR Linac physics Demonstrates excellent communication, computer, and interpersonal skills. Should be adept at working independently and as part of a team, consistently upholding high standards of precision and accuracy.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a deep understanding of human anatomy, particularly in the area of the patient’s cancer.
Associate degree in biology, chemistry or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Biology or with a major in biology, chemistry, or pre-medicine, or related experience.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58,931.00 – $98,218.33 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
