Associate, Asset-Backed Finance

Description

The Asset-Backed Finance (ABF) Associate role will support senior team members in all aspects of Corporate Credit Securitization (“CCS”) advisory, credit analysis, credit underwriting, client marketing, and deal execution. The role will report to the Head of CCS and be based in Charlotte, NC. The CCS business provides debt and debt advisory services to US based middle market credit managers, including Direct Lenders and Private Capital managers.

Responsibilities

Support all aspects of CCS lending transaction origination, execution, and ongoing maintenance, including marketing, structuring and closing Lead Arranged transactionsPrepare underwriting memos, conduct transaction analysis and summaries, and organize the underwriting process for the lead deal team memberRespond to client, internal partners, and syndicate partners on transaction inquiries  Prepare and organize transaction due diligence calls and meetingsWrite, organize and distribute syndication materials to potential syndicate partners in Lead transactionsOrganize, lead, and resolve open legal matters on legal document creation and executionPerform market analysis and researchWork collaboratively with key internal constituents (credit/risk management and PM), external constituents (counsel, trustees and clients), and syndicate partners in support of Lead Arranged transactionsMonitor and research capital markets trends with focus on securitization marketsMaintain internal deal and market databasesExecute ratings based modelling to determine risk ratings and breakeven loss tolerance.

Contribute to business and client data management processes

Qualifications 

At least 3+ years of relevant work experienceExperience reading and analyzing CLO bond indenturesStrong Excel skills manipulating large data setsExperience preparing leveraged loan and/or securitization loan credit analysis, including identifying and prioritizing transaction risks and mitigants in concise written formatFamiliarity with rating agency securitization methodologiesProactive, detailed-oriented, and proven ability to work independently on multiple projectsStrong oral and written communicatorProficient in Microsoft Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Bachelor’s degree required

Hours per Week:  40

Work Schedule:  Monday - Friday
