We are seeking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Risk Management team as an Associate. The successful candidate will closely work with the Director, Credit Risk and Portfolio Oversight, and other members of the Risk Management team on various deliverables related to credit risk portfolio analysis and monitoring, credit risk reporting, credit policies and procedures as well as undertake other ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned / required by the organization.
Key Responsibilities Conduct analysis of the credit risk portfolio, including the assessment of credit quality, concentration risk, and portfolio performance trends. Perform portfolio deep dives, support in stress testing, scenario, and sensitivity analyses. Assess resilience of the portfolio to various economic conditions. Assist in preparation of credit risk reporting, monitor credit and portfolio metrics, limits, and key risk indicators, participate in annual risk appetite refreshes. Support development and enhancement of risk management policies, procedures, and frameworks to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices. Respond to ad-hoc requests for risk-related reporting tasks, including the preparation of presentations and reports for senior management and regulatory authorities. Stay informed about industry trends, emerging risks, and regulatory developments to contribute to the continuous improvement of the risk management function. Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., FRM, CFA) is an asset. 2-3 years of experience in credit risk analysis, or a related field within the financial services industry. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings effectively. Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, Bloomberg) is an asset. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare professional, clear, and concise reports and executive presentations. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy, the ability to manage tight timelines and multi-task. Knowledge of banking regulations and risk management practices, particularly in relation to the Canadian financial services industry is desirable.
