About the position:

Junior relationship manager focused on helping deliver financial solutions and the ING global network to financial sponsor clients. Support the Financial Sponsors Group (‘FSG’) in delivering multi-product financing, capital markets, banking, and advisory solutions to financial sponsors that draw from the organization’s complete product offering.


About the department:

FSG is a global team covering ING’s largest financial sponsor (private capital) relationships. Our primary responsibility is to manage these relationships, coordinate across products and geographies (i.e. Americas, EMEA, APAC) to explore and maximise cross-sell opportunities. This involves leading the sponsor relationship dialogue and regular coordination with Sector Coverage, Capital Markets & Advisory, Financial Markets, Transaction Services and other teams across the ING platform.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Client Relationship Management

Develop a sound understanding of each sponsor’s strategy and support the senior relationship manager in executing ING’s client coverage model for each relationshipPrepare pitches, briefing notes, and marketing materials for client meetingsIdentify and drive cross-sell opportunities from product and client conversationsInput to commercial and credit committee applications, where appropriate

Data management and teamwork

Create and maintain key databases used by the team to effectively cover clientsPro-actively engage with ING teams across the globe to understand local client initiatives and learn from the respective product groupsProduce presentations, memos, financial reports and other supporting material for internal stakeholders and senior management meetingsCoordinate KYC onboarding and remediation efforts

General

Stay well-informed of trends in the industry and the position of competitors in all geographies where ING has a wholesale presenceContribute strategic insights for the development of ING’s businessManage periodic projects of strategic importance to INGLiaise with other product specialists and departments throughout ING, including risk, syndications, loan operations, portfolio management and KYC desk

Candidate Profile:

Qualification/Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or closely related quantitative field from an accredited U.S. school or equivalentMinimum GPA of 3.5

Experience/Knowledge

2+ years of relevant corporate finance, banking, or accounting experienceSponsor coverage, investment industry or financial institutions background preferred, but not requiredGood understanding of GAAP accounting principles and comfort with core financial statementsCredit training and KYC are a plus

Salary Range: $130,000
