The Role

Do you want to make a difference in our customers’ and internal associates lives and contribute to a cross-functional team committed to facilitating the confirmation and settlement of foreign exchange transactions and providing daily cash estimates to Trading within the Fidelity Fund & Investments Operations (FFIO) business unit?

We are looking for a Foreign Exchange Trade Operations Analyst who will provide trade support to Fidelity's domestic and international equity for high yield, foreign exchange, and fixed income/money market trading desks located in Merrimack, Boston, London, and Hong Kong! In addition to the various external counterparts that the trade analysts deal with, there are also several internal groups that assist in the group's daily responsibilities, including Compliance, Treasurer's Office, Counterparty Risk, Legal, FMTC, Fund Accounting, and other Custody groups.

Your responsibilities include:

Supervising trade instruction and delivery to custodian banksFacilitating the accurate and timely delivery of critical business information to all interested partiesProviding trade confirmation / affirmation and settlement support for Equity, Fixed Incomes and FX assets classesBring failed trades to a resolution by communicating with Brokers and Custodian banksCollaborating within the team environment to optimally handle daily work volumes and quality standardsProviding timely mentor to staff on day-to-day responsibilitiesIdentifying and resolving problems related to transactions or investment data in an appropriate fashion following established guidelines

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

Bachelor's Degree required4+ years of relevant financial operations experience, preferably in FX Trade / FX Custody OperationsProgression toward advanced degrees and/or professional certifications is a plusStrong understanding of the FX operational environment and market settlement practices strongly preferredProven track record of being organized, professional, and demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal direct supervisionAbility to prioritize multiple projects and tasks simultaneously within a tight timeframeStrong analytical and problem-solving skills that implement process solutionsExposure to or basic understanding of Fund Accounting or Pricing preferredSolid understanding with Bloomberg, as well as OMGEO Alert, CTM, Finastra CMSSolid understanding of Excel, Word, and Power PointSQL or VBA knowledge a plus

The Team

Our team handles trade operations to support FMR, FMTC, SAI, FIAM and FIC accounts. You will work closely with the desk, broker-dealer community, and the custodian bank network to facilitate settlement in over 70 countries worldwide. We are a multifaceted Global Middle Office (GMO) Division within the FFIO business unit, acting as a servicing center for FMR Co., GEODE, FIAM, FIL, FIJ, and SAI trading desks globally. We are responsible for coordinating corporate action executions, ensuring the collection of income to the Funds, resolving position differences, and facilitating securities lending activities.
