**Purpose**
Global Equity Derivatives (GED) includes Investor Solutions (offering Structured Notes) and Equity Derivatives Trading (Options, Swaps and Index Finance). The successful candidate will support more senior members of GED with the development, structuring, review and execution of Structured Notes transactions as well as the day-to-day operations of Investor Solutions, ensuring that specific transactions, goals, plans and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of GED’s business strategies and objectives. As needed, the candidate will also assist with new initiatives in GED, including adapting the business to legal and regulatory changes and managing legal and regulatory risks impacting GED, particularly in connection with the Structured Notes business. Given the nature of the role, the successful candidate will work with, and have the ability to build relationships across the Bank such as with Legal, Compliance, Internal Controls, Tax and Group Treasury.
GED operates in a fast-paced and demanding environment. The successful candidate should demonstrate strong attention to detail, flexibility, the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, initiative and excellent organizational skills. The candidate will be a strong team-player and communicator, with an exceptional work ethic. The candidate should be able to work collaboratively and independently with the capacity to synthesize information and instructions quickly and effectively to action items. The candidate will be based in Toronto and will report to the Managing Director, Structuring and Business Development, Global Equity Derivatives.
**What You'll Do:**
+ Conduct detailed reviews of Structured Note offering documents
+ Draft and/or review closing documents
+ Collaborate with members of GED and internal and external legal counsel in connection with both transactional and non-transactional matters
+ Support the development of new Structured Note and derivative products and market entry into new regions and process improvements, including automation
+ Keep abreast of legal and regulatory changes in the markets in which GED operates
+ Support senior members of GED with regulatory projects, assist with identifying key impacts to GED and coordinate communication and participation for relevant GED team members
+ Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
**What You'll Bring:**
+ Minimum of 1+ years of professional work experience in law and/or finance
+ Juris Doctor or university degree in business, finance or a related discipline
+ CFA candidate or charter holder is an asset
+ Proven proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, including the ability to manipulate large data sets
+ Aptitude to learn how to use software for document automation and internal trading and booking systems
+ Competency in a programming language such as HTML, SQL, VBA or Python considered an asset
+ Superior attention to detail and experience reviewing complex documentation
+ Knowledge of capital markets products, securities law and the Bank’s processes and policies is an asset
+ Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines and multi-task amidst competing priorities
+ Motivated to work in a target-driven and high-performance culture
**Work Arrangement:**
This position is currently an on-site role, with the expectation that you will work at least 4 days a week in the office. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
