Associate, Inventory Analyst

The Supply Chain Inventory Analyst I is responsible for establishing appropriate safety stock level across supply chain, analyzing recommended safety stock, and developing safety stock strategies to meet targeted service levels. 

 

Responsibilities:

Execute the monthly Safety Stock Review process across the organization with the primary objective of setting a global inventory mix that achieves targeted customer service levels while meeting working capital goals.  On a consistent, on-going basis, establish and adjust safety stock level for each sku to ensure appropriate safety stock volume based on the current supply chain profile including factors such as: Forecast error, lead-time, demand trends/volatility, receipt intervals and desired service levels.   Promotions, distribution and account changes, product phase in & phase outs, location changes. Generate and review safety stock exceptions to ensure high quality feed into supply chain planning system. Work closely with demand and supply planning to review and resolve exceptions, ensuring appropriate demand signal and parameters are incorporated into Safety stock generation. Partner with demand planning and data science on ABC/XYZ segmentation to ensure target service level align with business needs. Analyze safety stock result and recommend safety stock parameter adjustments to optimize safety stock to align with business needs.  Participate in the improvement of the Safety Stock Review process across the organization and the on-going SAP-IBP implementation.  Improve the process: Evaluate current safety stock review process and recommend process improvement, addition exceptions to improve efficiency.  Research and keep up to date with IBP Inventory Optimization new releases to recommend applicable configuration changes.  Develop reporting for inventory management & optimization of key performance indicators.  Provide ad hoc analysis, reports, and special projects as requested.  IBP Implementation: Participate in design and configuration of IBP Inventory Optimization module to meet business needs. Participate in SIT/UAT Testing for new implementations. Conduct training of new users across the business.

 

Experience/Skills/Education Requirements:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Operations Research, Supply Chain Management, Statistics, Analytics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or related field.  0-2 years using quantitative methods to analyze and improve supply chains. Demonstrated knowledge of basic statistical analysis. Proficient use of MS Office tools is required including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.  Excellent interpersonal, including strong oral and written communication skills necessary to work effectively with all levels of the organization as well as geographically disbursed teams. Highly motivated self-starter, driven for results, effective at prioritizing and managing complex initiatives. Preferred  Exposure in some or all of following: strategic supply chain design, demand planning, forecasting, supply planning, sales & operations planning, production planning, advanced scheduling, inventory optimization. Experience in the consumer packaged goods and/or textile and apparel industries is preferred Experience in business process improvement and/or optimization Knowledge or experience with advanced planning software such as SAP IBP, SAP APO or Oracle Value Chain Planning. Practical knowledge of manipulating, cleansing, aggregating, and compiling analytic data Practical knowledge of relational databases including ability to write basic SQL queries. Advanced Excel skills including experience in VBA and data analysis add-ins very desired.
