This role covers below responsibilities within Northern Trust :

Provide Batch monitoring & support, working in shift to IT teams to ensure stability of production systems.Ensure priority incidents are being addressed in a timely manner to avoid major incidentsResolve incidents/failures in Batches and ensure closure within the SLAs. Perform root cause analysis and provide solution/work around for incidents.Ensure seamless running of batch process/application through proactive, regular health checks .Support scheduled weekend activities, participate in disaster recovery events and release testing events.Coordinate with upstream and downstream application teams proactively for any risks or potential issues.Proactively identify & implement opportunities to increase efficiency through automation & process efficiencies.Develop and maintain excellent relationships and communication with global stakeholders, other IT teams, and business areas.Should be flexible to work in early APAC and EMEA time zonesHandle change request process & approvals.Provide support for audit and compliance related activities .Ability to work with vendors and support staff on support tickets and follow up regularly till resolution is found

Experience/ Skills

Minimum qualification:

Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or engineering2 – 3 years of work experience in Java and Unix support including ORMB batch monitoringPreference given for any experience in supporting finance or billing projects in banking domain

Required Skills

Must have extensive work experience with Unix, SQL and Oracle databaseExposure to supporting Oracle Revenue Management and Billing (ORMB) application.Some hands on experience on Java development and analyzing existing Java codeMust be well versed with the Unix shell scriptingMust be aware of tools – Winscp, Putty, SQL Developer.Hands on experience on control-M scheduling or any other monitoring tool for batch monitoringAbility to resolve issues/troubleshoot application in a high-pressure & time critical environment.Exposure to Agile practices (Scrum /Kanban)Self-motivated to learn and work in challenging environmentStrong written/verbal communications skillsStrong interpersonal and teamwork skillsGood programming and debugging skillsStrong analytical, design thinking and problem solving skills

Nice to Have Skills

Hands on experience in Oracle Revenue Management and Billing (ORMB) batch support activities .Hands on experience on ADO (Azure Devops) and Devops principles
