Description We are seeking an Associate to join our team in O'Fallon, Illinois. In this role, you will be engaged in numerous aspects of civil law, defense litigation, and complex litigation, handling both local and national accounts. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within the vibrant legal sector, focusing on areas such as toxic tort, complex product liability, local government, general liability, and commercial litigation. Responsibilities: • Handle local and national accounts across diverse jurisdictions. • Independently manage a comprehensive litigation caseload. • Conduct and lead depositions, preparing witnesses for deposition and trial. • Review, analyze and respond to discovery requests and pleadings. • Prepare court filings and ensure efficient service to counsel, utilizing e-filing systems. • Engage in trial preparation and support, ensuring readiness and organization. • Maintain accurate time records, ensuring all client work is correctly logged. • Utilize strong research and writing skills to support case progression. • Demonstrate the ability to multitask and manage complex matters. • Work independently but also integrate effectively within a team. Requirements • Must possess excellent communication skills • Proficiency in Civil Law is required • Experience in Defense Litigation is essential • Familiarity with Litigation - Defense is necessary • Ability to summarize depositions is required • Experience in defending depositions is needed • Familiarity with the process of depositions is essential • Proficiency in Discovery, Discovery Requests, and Discovery Responses is necessary • Must be comfortable with Court Appearances and Court Filing • Experience in Civil Litigation is required • Civil Litigation Experience is necessary • Ability to handle Complex Litigation is essential • Familiarity with Toxic Torts is required • Proficiency in Environmental Law is necessary.
