Position Summary:

Under general supervision, assist in the day-to-day maintenance of complete and accurate ledger accounts. Accounting functions include, but are not limited to, cash reconciliations, balance sheet substantiation, preparation of journal entries, and monthly cash settlements

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare daily cash reconciliations for specified accounts.Interact daily with Claims and Premium Accounting personnel as it relates to cash disbursements and cash receipts applicable to the individual departments.Perform general ledger duties to assist with daily and monthly activity.Participate in monthly insurance accounting and reporting close process.Perform monthly reconciliation and supply adequate substantiation of balance sheet ending balances.Verify and post details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed and total accounts to ledgers, computer spreadsheets, and databases.Assist with special projects as needed.

Education, Experience & Knowledge

4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance or a related field or the equivalent education and/or experienceGeneral Ledger experience required.Intermediate proficiency and experience using MS Office Package, most specifically Excel and Adobe for our paperless environment.Fundamental understanding of cash management functions.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals and legal documents.Proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
