Associate Accountant

Overview

•\tThe jobholder will be part of the Controller’s group within MasterCard Europe’s Finance division. This position will report to the Manager, Accounting.
•\tThe role supports the oversight and the timely and correct accounting treatment, as well as relevant controls, of all customer business agreements, in line with current applicable MasterCard policies as well as US GAAP.
•\tThe jobholder will work closely together with different departments within the organization (FP&A, Business Development Finance, Legal, Account Managers & Regional Finance) and participate in the monthly financial close process and annual Statutory Account preparation.

Role

•\tSupports Statutory Audit process for the various entities within their scope, supports local bookkeeping processes as applicable
•\tSupports Monthly Closing process and US GAAP trial balances review for the entities in their scope
•\tSupports execution and review of the various SOX controls in their scope under
•\tSupports the contract drafting process supervised by the manager, to ensure that contract verbiage in customer business agreements enables proper accounting treatment in line with the applicable MasterCard policies and US GAAP as well as optimal operational implementation
•\tLiaises with Billing Services team and business owners in pricing implementation projects, including review and approval of requirements and test results
•\tSets up automatic rebates and customer specific rates in billing system
•\tSupports creation and updates of rebates calculations models


All About You

•\tUniversity degree in economics/business/finance or similar. Preferably with Accounting concentration/major
•\tMust be eligible for Rosetta position (under 26 years old)
•\tAdvanced knowledge of common analysis & modelling tools (Excel, Access) as well as database management
•\tProblem solver and a strong team player with an eye for detail and focus on accuracy
•\tFluent in English (both spoken and written) – other European languages are an asset
•\tYou work well under pressure, are naturally curious, proactive and a fast learner
