Associate Actuary - Retirement Income Solutions
What You'll Do As an Associate Actuary you’ll be integral to leading and advancing financial risk management within the Retirement and Income Solutions (RIS) team. This will include ongoing hedge execution, ALM oversight, and partnering with various product teams to ensure financial risks are being appropriately captured and proactively managed. You’ll play a critical role in maintaining efficient ALM through ongoing collaboration with asset and liability teams. Effectively promote and execute hedging and financial risk programs within RIS to deliver active risk management across the product suite. Provide expertise of economic and modeled impacts to bridge across liability product and asset management teams. Report hedge program progress to key management stakeholders through collaboration with tactical teams and the RIS Financial Risk Working Group. Build influence across the organization to implement financial risks into relevant decision-making. Demonstrate accountability to proactively monitor, engage, and mitigate financial risks. Review and implement risk management updates and enhancements as they arise. Advocate for development of efficient actuarial processes to reduce model risk. Who You Are Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. A Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, or global equivalent, or Enrolled Actuary. 6+ years of actuarial work experience required. Effective communication and presentation skills. Strong analytical skillset and ability to navigate multiple initiatives simultaneously. Curiosity to engage across multiple product lines and drive solutions with several cross-business functions. Knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, the Actuarial Standards of Practice promulgated by the Actuarial Standards Board, and the Code of Professional Conduct of the AAA and the SOA is required. Must maintain continuing education requirements as specific by the SOA or AAA. Salary Range Information Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly) $123000 - $167000 / year Time Off Program Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided. Pension Eligible Yes Additional Information Work Environments This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC).
