Primary Role

The Associate Analyst, Engineering is responsible for supporting the coordination and administration of the asset and capital planning function within the engineering department to adhere to the company’s capital improvement program and asset investment strategy. Focus is on engineering planning projects and performance of tasks to support the engineering function, including all or part of the following duties: data input/analysis for department/functional processes and performance monitoring/reporting; procurement; capital program spend tracking; fixed asset and job cost order processing; expense spend tracking; inventory control, asset records management; preparation and maintenance of documentation, general support and administration of projects and department needs; and special projects.

Key Accountabilities Help with coordinating and administering functional support work processes for activities including asset capital planning, design, project delivery and construction for varying water resource system projects. Input and analyze data for water and wastewater systems and reports, utilizing operational data and industry-standard geospatial tools. Prepare variance reports as required. Assist with preparing capital investment recommendations and project documentation. Assist with preparing and analyzing department or functional key performance indicator reports and dashboards to support state engineering team goals. Support procurement of materials and services and effectively utilize business system and procurement agreements. Prepare and maintain files, records, drawings, reports, maps, charts, budgets, and other data related to engineering and construction projects. Knowledge/Skills General knowledge of GIS methodologies, Geocoding techniques, data model formats, data conversion practices, GPS, desktop mapping, web and database applications General Knowledge of geocoding, address matching, topology interpolation of linear and non-linear data and relational databases preferred. General knowledge of databases and programming, data model formats, data conversion practices, web and database applications Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office suite applications including MSWord, Excel, Access and PowerPoint and email management systems (MS Outlook) preferred. Detail oriented to conduct thorough analyses and evaluations, render and implement timely decisions and recommendations. Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines. Good interpersonal and communications skills. Thoroughly proficient computer skills. Internal consulting skills with technical, analytical and problem-solving approach. Experience/Education

Associates degree in a related field (Engineering, Technology or Science- focused) Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred

2+ years’ experience in Engineering, Construction or Financial Analysis
