Associate Analytical Engineer

Key Responsibilities Provides the Research & Development (R&D) organization and the company with expertise in an engineering methodology to enable state-of-the-art performance and independence of external knowledge. Applies deep expertise in an engineering methodology in R&D operations and other projects. Constantly monitors the further development of the area of expertise to keep up to date (e.g., publications, trainings, knowledge exchange through industry associations and R&D partners). Prepares suggestions and decision-making papers for R&D management to initiate methodological changes. Advises staff in all matters regarding Finite Element Analysis (FEA) with a focus on structural durability and fatigue. Maintains clear communication with internal customers to advise on design decisions. Actively participates on internal cross-functional teams to consider all aspects impacting design durability. Qualifications Minimum Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or similar engineering related degree. College-level courses in the fields of theoretical and applied mechanics, vibrations, fluid dynamics, physics, metallurgy, electricity, heat transfer, thermodynamics, machine design and computational analysis. Good engineering fundamentals with a track record of academic achievements and ability to apply knowledge to solve complex engineering problems.  Academic-level experience with commercial computer-aided engineering (CAE) software used for Virtual Product Development (VPD) simulation (ANSYS, Abaqus, Altair, Hexagon, etc.) Basic knowledge of automotive powertrain systems and associated components. Team player who is able to support team efforts through individual contributions. Proven computer skills and proficiency in use of Microsoft Office products. Resolve, persistence and attention to detail in solving complex problems. High ethical standards in assessing and applying engineering analysis methods to make product development decisions. Good planning and organization skills. Ability to read technical drawings. Good written and verbal communication skills.
