About the Team:
We are responsible for the Rave EDC, which is the cornerstone product of the Medidata Clinical Cloud. Our product is used for managing clinical research data in phase I-IV studies, and is designed to help life science companies increase their research investments by streamlining the clinical trial process.
What are we looking for:
Implement enhancements, investigate and fix the application, performance, or other issues - design and implement fixes/improvements to our Rave product to solve the issues for our products/customers, such as performance issues. Enhancing the monitoring/diagnostic capabilities of our product. This job role is on-site in New York City.
Role Description
The AssociateApplication Engineer Function develops Medidata's software applications. You will report to the manager of engineering and work with a team lead on a daily basis. You are motivated, hands-on developer with an open mind for the use of new technologies, passionate about building scalable solutions and will individually contribute in the following ways:
Design and enhance features for a large-scale service environment using OO principles with a focus on performance, scalability, quality and extensibility Backend development, including APIs, using C#, .Net, k8s, MongoDb, SQL server Embrace test-driven development with complete code coverage and continuous integration Provide diagnostic support and fix bugs for service features Follow Medidata's Standard Operating Procedures to ensure all software meets regulatory and company requirements Work with Agile team members, like Software Quality Assurance and Product Management, to write clear and comprehensive feature files Participate in Agile working practices such as daily scrum meetings, sprint planning meetings, reviews and retrospectives Share your experience with a collaborative team regarding code reviews, software designs and all other engineering and business aspects Gain knowledge of our products and their functionality.Qualifications:
Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Preferably in Senior year Minimum GPA 3.0 Experience with C#, .Net, k8s, MongoDb, SQL server or similar technologies Experience with data structures and algorithms. Experience with container orchestration tools such as Docker and KubernetesSkills:
Experience working with code repositories such as GitHub. Experience working with IDEs like Visual Studio or Rider Experience using bug-tracking tools such as Jira. Experience with Continuous Integration tools like Github Actions Experience working in a Scrum Agile software development environment. Analytical and debugging skills. Prioritize multiple, diverse projects simultaneously. Experience communicating updates and resolutions to the team. Must be flexible and independent Technical competency regarding feature design, enhancement and implementation within a single instance multi-tenant service environment Cross team collaboration skillsThe salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in New York City. As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on many factors including function, level, candidate experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New York City, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The salary for this position is $32.00 per hour with a benefit of a $3,500 sign on bonus.
