PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
Accountable for achieving profitable sales for all agronomy products sold to assigned accounts.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assumes responsibility for sales of crop nutrients to targeted customers by maintaining regular and ongoing contact with the customer’s designated purchasing/procurement personnel. Communicates market information, prices, and programs offered by GROWMARK and its various manufacturers/providers of products and services.
Assists with implementation of Crop Nutrients Division strategies and programs, including the communication of customer supply plans and intents to the marketing team.
Assists in the development and implementation of marketing strategies and pursues new business opportunities that will result in increased market penetration for both member cooperatives and non-member accounts.
Maintains an analysis of the major competitors in the marketplace and provide market intelligence information to Crop Nutrients Division personnel. Develops and presents sales strategies to specifically target competitive approaches and pressures.
Assumes responsibility for all customer orders for division products and programs within the assigned area.
Achieves and maintains a high level of knowledge regarding regional agronomy marketers in the assigned area and assists in the acquisition of product, as requested by customers.
Participates in the development of the Crop Nutrients Division objectives, goals, and operating policies.
Provides market place intelligence gathered from customers to sales and marketing staffs.
Is responsible for discovering, reporting, and recommending appropriate action on customer complaints concerning products and services. Seeks to settle issues in a prompt, fair and equitable manner.
Is responsible for executing the company’s credit policy, follows credit limits, and performs collections on past-due accounts. Obtains credit information from customers as required and works directly with the Treasurers Division.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Assists in providing backup service to other Area Sales Managers as required and directed.
Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Normally requires a college degree in agronomy, ag economics, ag business, marketing, or other business-related discipline and one year or more of agronomy marketing experience to demonstrate the ability to provide agronomy marketing leadership to the assigned area.
Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
Requires a valid driver’s license.
Must have the ability to work extended hours as needed.
Must have the ability to travel independently and overnight.
Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
