Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Physics. Appointment at the Associate Professor level will be considered for the qualified candidate

Responsibilities Teaching: Organic Chemistry 1 and 2 (lab and lecture), required; General Chemistry 1 and 2 (lab and lecture); advanced courses within the candidate's area of expertise.Advisement: Undergraduate student academic advisementService: As required to further the Mission regarding the Department, University, and Community, including but not limited to textbook selection, course and lab design, committee work. Qualifications Education/ ExperienceDoctor of Philosophy in Chemistry required.Doctor of Philosophy in Biochemistry required.Proven (peer-reviewed publication, presentations, etc.) track record of research involving undergraduate students is required.Knowledge/ Skills/ AbilitiesDemonstrated ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students, faculty, and colleagues required.Familiarity in online learning platforms including Banner, Canvas, Blackboard, & Adobe Connect requiredDemonstrated proficiency in communication (written and verbal) requiredFamiliarity with chemical laboratory safety issuesAbility to design and implement novel teaching lab modalitiesAbility to set up and maintain a research program involving undergraduate students.

Travel

The position is located mainly at our Brooklyn campus. Occasional teaching at our other undergraduate campuses in the New York are is expected. Maximum Salary USD $78,883.00/Yr.
