Associate/Assistant Professor of Instruction - Clinical Laboratory Sciences

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Teach Clinical Laboratory Sciences courses (lectures and labs) to on-campus and distance BSCLS/MS/DCLS students.  Specifically, to teach CLLS 5164 Seminar in Transfusion Medicine, CLLS 5263 Applied Immunoheme I, CLLS 5320 Laboratory Management, CLLS 5095 Seminar in Transfusion Medicine II, CLLS 5160 Intro to Research in TM, and CLLS 5260 Blood Bank Lab Ops. Develop lesson plans, prepare presentations, and obtain visual aids for on campus and distance web-based courses, grade student papers, and set up student laboratories and practical examinations. Advise students (both on-campus and distance) on academic and research activities. Participate in scholarly, professional, and administrative service activities. Participate in departmental meetings and committee meetings, and other scholarly activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must have a master's degree from an accredited institution.  Three years of teaching experience. ASCP-BOC or ASCPi-BOC generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist and specialist certification in blood banking. Appropriate graduate-level teaching.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:                                                                                                                                                                              Doctoral degree from an accredited institution.


SALARY:
Commensurate with experience.
