Job Summary\:
The Associate Athletic Trainer will serve as a secondary supervisor of the athletic training room and will be responsible for managing and maintaining the athletic training room's weekly schedules and calendars. Incumbent will also be responsible for the daily athletic training needs of assigned intercollegiate athletic teams and overall care and maintenance of the athletic training facilities. The Associate Athletic Trainer will serve as liaison to the secondary insurance company and is the contact for all claims. This person must provide exceptional personal care for the student-athletes and sports programs, as assigned to them, about injury prevention, rehabilitation, healthy eating and living, and health insurance matters. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience\:
Bachelor’s degree in athletic training or related field/concentration. A minimum of a year (3) years of directly related experience as a certified athletic trainer. Possess state athletic training licensure, in good standing, in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or eligible to pursue upon being hired; Certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (NATABOC). Demonstrated experience working with spreadsheets and relevant databases. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred\:
Master’s degree. Three (3) or more years of experience at the Division I collegiate level. Experience managing multiple sports as an athletic trainer.Required Skills & Abilities\:
Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Experience working with healthcare professionals from a variety of disciplines. Work experience that demonstrates ability to work successfully with a diverse student population. The ability to manage several tasks and/or projects simultaneously. Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and a commitment to customer service. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Strong integrity and character who shares a commitment to knowing and complying with NCAA, Conference, and University rules.
