Associate Attorney

We are currently seeking a Associate Attorney!
The associate attorney provides assistance in the legal department, focusing on litigation management, legal compliance, and drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various types of legal agreements. They are responsible for establishing and maintaining effective litigation management and contracting processes and ensuring that all legal matters are appropriately managed and that all contracts are accurately prepared and archived. The associate attorney also assists in ensuring that the organization’s activities comply with legal standards and helping to mitigate legal risks.
Responsibilities include:
+ Support and work closely with senior management on all legal, regulatory and business matters
+ Work with outside legal counsel
+ Assist the General Counsel on all company legal, regulatory and business matters
+ Perform legal research, review, and prepare contracts
Manage litigation matters, including:
+ Developing and implementing case strategies in collaboration with internal stakeholders and outside counsel.
+ Conducting legal research and analysis to support litigation strategies.
+ Reviewing pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court documents.
+ Managing the discovery process, including responding to discovery requests, coordinating document production, and reviewing materials for relevance and privilege.
+ Overseeing case calendars, deadlines, and litigation budgets to ensure timely progress and cost efficiency.
+ Representing the company in legal proceedings, depositions, mediations, and settlement negotiations as needed.
+ Assessing and mitigating risks associated with litigation and providing recommendations to minimize exposure.
+ Regularly updating internal stakeholders on case statuses, developments, and potential impacts.
+ Independently handle legal matters and projects ranging from basic to complex.
+ Recognize when to elevate certain matters to the attention of the General Counsel.
+ Advocate Apartment Management Consultants’ interests in assigned matters.
+ Establish and maintain relationships, credibility, and trust with clients, stakeholders, legal team members, and other colleagues.
+ Perform other tasks as assigned from time to time by the General Counsel.
Requirements:
+ Experience working in a multistate organization and complying with federal, state, and local laws
+ Experience with litigation and administrative proceedings
+ Experience with arbitration and mediation
+ Experience with drafting and implementing company policies
+ Contributions to risk management through compliance and regulatory efforts
+ Conveys accurate information
+ Effectively communicates with operations and internal staff
+ Possesses initiative and ability to identify areas for improvement
+ Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner
+ Accurate on-time reporting and communication to all agencies

Compensation: Full-Time $110,000-$125,000 per year
