Associate Bridge Inspection, Structural Engineer
**This Opportunity** WSP is currently initiating a search for an **Associate Bridge Inspection, Structural Engineer** to join our exceptional Structures Bridge Design/Inspection Team in New England, which includes offices in **Boston & Worcester, MA; Glastonbury, CT; Merrimack, NH and Providence, RI** . Be a part of a collaborative team of experts and contribute to projects that help shape our communities and our future. **Your Impact** + Work with our Bridge/Highway Design Team on a variety of project development and design tasks. + Assist in the preparation of Bridge Load Ratings. + Work as a Team Member on Bridge Inspections. + Assist with the development of plans/sketches using AutoCAD. + Work with cross-functional teams in executing project work. + Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills. + Learn basic principles of bridge and transportation Engineering. + Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis. + Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates. + Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation. Complete training on assigned tasks. + Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. + Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. **Who You Are** **Required Qualifications** + Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline. + 1 to 3 years of experience in bridge inspection or design or other bridge related work. + Demonstrated interest in structures, transportation or related field and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects. + Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience. + Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to executive projects. + Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools. + Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) is required. + Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. + Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Engineer in Training Certification. + Working knowledge of AutoCAD preferred. + A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations. \#LI-AW1 **About WSP** WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of WSP, one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
