Job Description:
Parsons' Missouri team is now hiring for an entry level Structural Bridge Design Drafter or Transportation Road Drafter to work on transportation infrastructure projects for road and bridge design for major projects in the region.
Based out of our St Louis office, you will take engineering notes, specifications, rough sketches, etc., and formalize them into working drawings. In this role you will perform basic to moderately difficult design/drafting assignments requiring a working knowledge of design/drafting standards, practices, and techniques. You will also assist with file management, compiling plan sets, and organizing design documents for submittal.
What You'll Be Doing:
Utilizing Microstation to prepare contract drawings from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures
Ensure compliance with codes and company policies using technical manuals and directives
Apply samples, instruction, and established standards as a guide in transferring design information from market prints and sketches to preliminary or final drawings
Become familiar with various standards and codes such as AASHTO and MoDOT standards
Compile data and performing dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings
What Required Skills/Experience You'll Bring:
High School Diploma (or equivalent)
CAD Familiarity/Experience/Coursework
What Desired Skills/Experience You'll Bring:
Associate of Applied Science (or equivalent)
Understand how to read and create orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) designs and interpret supplier/manufacturer drawings
2 years experience in structural/civil disciplines
Transportation/infrastructure experience
Working knowledge of Microstation, InRoads, or Open Roads (highly preferred for this position but can be learned in the role)
Project-wise and project delivery experience
Experience with DOT drafting standards is desirable
