The Toxicology department offers experience with many types of analytical instrumentation such as GC, GC/MS, HPLC, ICP/MS and LC/MS/MS as well as with automated and manual systems of sample preparation. Position is in the LC/MS Data Review/Operator Section of Toxicology. The position will be responsible for the verification of the calibration, quality controls, and patient data up to and including result entry. Performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting/repair and instrument prep of LC/MS systems.

The work schedule for this position will be: 3rd shift, Saturday-Tuesday, 3:00am-1:30pm. Position is eligible for 15% shift differential due to 3rd shift hours.
Job Duties/ Responsibilities:
Determine if data is acceptable or not and then upload resultsResponsible for the verification of the calibration, quality controls, and patient data up to and including result entryPerform troubleshooting/repair and instrument prep of LC/MS systemsGains knowledge of department operations and procedures under direct supervision and in an entry level capacityConducts qualitative and quantitative analyses on organic and inorganic samples to determine their chemical properties. Participates in development of new analytical proceduresPerform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating ProceduresDemonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solvingEvaluate raw and final data for accuracy; recognize and correct errors or unusual resultsProvide guidance to technical staff with the analysis and interpretation of final resultsAssist with training and orientation of new employees as neededPerform and document preventive maintenance and quality control proceduresIdentify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessaryRequirements:
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology or a related science.Minimum 2+ years of clinical laboratory testing experience is required for Associate Chemist levelASCP/AMT certification preferred, not requiredExperience with Chromatographic Data Review preferred but not requiredDemonstrated success in clinical testing technical proficiency and scientific knowledgeAdvanced knowledge and understanding of specific laboratory and/or department functionsAbility to exercise judgment to determine methods and procedures on new assignmentsProficient with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systemsHigh level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and within a team environmentMust be able to pass a standardized color vision screenFlexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needsLabcorp is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer:
