We are a top choice in North Texas for emergency services, women’s services, cardiac care and much more. + Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth + Core work hours: Monday-Friday 8:00a-5:00p The Associate Chief Medical Officer will provide administrative oversight and assistance with hospital's medical staff, physician recruitment, hospital operations and clinical programs. **Job Description** HOSPITAL ROLE: a. Work collaboratively with the Director of Medical Staff Affairs and participates in overseeing and providing leadership to the Hospital’s Medical Staff Office; b. Work collaboratively with Hospital’s Triad and all members of the Executive Team; c. Work collaboratively with the Chairs of all Medical Staff Committees as an ex-officio non-voting member of all medical staff committees; d. Serve as a non-voting member of Hospital’s Medical Board, Senior Leadership Council, and Texas Health Resources Physician Leadership Committee; e. Attend meetings of Hospital’s Board of Trustees when requested; f. Assist with coordinating medical staff activities related to successful Joint Commission surveys, as well as other regulatory surveys; g. Facilitate the relationship between Hospital Administration and the medical staff: (i)Help medical staff provide leadership in the creation of flexible physician alignment strategies that recognize and continually communicate the importance of the relationship between Hospital and medical staff physicians; and (ii)Actively acknowledge and assist in responding to the needs and concerns of Hospital’s diverse medical staff; and h. Work closely with Hospital senior leadership to develop and expand relationships with referring physicians. PHYSICIAN MANPOWER, RECRUITMENT, OPERATIONS, & CLINICAL PROGRAMS: a. Assist medical staff leadership and Medical Staff Affairs with physician manpower, recruiting, and leadership development; b. Work with Medical Staff Office to develop clinical programs and related physician resource planning; and c. Assist the medical staff to actively engage in the strategic, fiscal, operational, capital, quality, contracting, staffing, and credentialing challenges associated with clinical program development. MEDICAL STAFF GOVERNANCE: a. Enhance medical staff dialogue with respect to strategic initiatives, clinical excellence, operational challenges, market dynamics, and the potential for expanded relationships between Hospital and its medical staff; b. Assist medical staff officers, Medical Board, medical staff committees, and department chairmen in carrying out their functions; c. Work with committees, and department chairmen in carrying out their functions; d. Work with committees and committee chairmen to ascertain physician needs with respect to clinical programs, clinical care, educational programs, and research projects; e. Work collaboratively with medical staff leadership to improve medical staff functions and governance; f. Support medical staff leadership in overseeing the conduct of all medical staff members privileged at Hospital, in accordance with Hospital policies and medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations; g. Work collaboratively with medical staff officers and Medical Board to help conduct robust peer review (includes OPPE, FPPE, rule, rate and review indicators); and h. Work with medical staff credentialing specialists, elected officers, and Chair of Credentials Committee to coordinate medical staff credentialing process including credentials review, delineation of clinical privileges, appropriate continuing medical education programs, utilization and risk management, and on-going monitoring of physician performance with patient care activities. OTHER ACTIVITIES: A. Perform such other administrative and/or non-administrative activities as Hospital may reasonably request from time to time. **Education** M.D. or D.O. required Master's Degree MBA, MHA or equivalent training preferred **Experience** 4 years private practice management and/or hospital administration required 1 year Medical staff leadership role required Experience in Graduate Medical Education and previous CMO, ACMO or medical director experience preferred **Licenses and Certifications** MD - Medical Doctor required upon hire **Skills** -Knowledge of industry standards JCAHO, Medicare, OSHA, Organizational management, regulatory standards for affected area of responsibility. - Knowledge of continuous improvement, change management, marketing, financial analysis and planning and emergency preparedness. - Track record of cultivating and maintaining strong working relationships with all levels of clinical and administrative managers within the hospital and community leaders. **Why Texas Health?** At Texas Health Resources, our mission is “to improve the health of the people in the communities we serve”.
