Role Summary:

Northern Trust Asset Management (NTAM) is seeking an Associate Client Portfolio Manager (CPM) to support our Global Equity Team. NTAM manages $721 Billion in equity assets on behalf of a global client base that includes institutional, intermediary, and wealth channels. The key equity capabilities this role will support include Quantitative Strategies, Index, and Tax Advantaged Equity Strategies. The CPM team is responsible for representing and advocating for our equity capabilities to clients and internal partners by explaining investment philosophy, platform, process, and performance. As an associate member of a team that supports both investments and distribution, you are expected to actively support a variety of activities that lead to successful client engagements. This includes organizing and developing content about markets, portfolios, and the broader industry, including an understanding of trends that can inform how we frame capabilities as well as go to market strategies.

Principal Responsibilities:

Serve as a key contributor to the CPM team whose primary objective is to facilitate and accelerate growth and retention of our Equity capabilities.

Develop, coordinate, and contribute to development of high-quality materials such as presentations, thought leadership, analysis, and RFP responses to support current and prospective clients, and to educate stakeholders.

Conduct quantitative and other analysis to support ongoing business activities including responding to client inquiries, market analysis and insights, and other forms of thought leadership.

Support innovation through knowledge of market trends and opportunities, portfolio construction, regulations, the competitive landscape, and NTAM capabilities

Desired Qualifications and Attributes:

Bachelor’s degree required

Relevant post-graduate work or progress toward is preferred (such as MBA or CFA)

Ability to think strategically, collaborate productively, and problem-solve effectively

At least 3 years of relevant financial industry experience that has provided exposure to the asset management industry

Ability to develop and contribute to high quality content such as presentations, research papers, market commentary, RFPs, and value-added responses to client inquiries

Strong technical/analytical toolkit to complement ability to visualize and frame data

Strong communication skills

Familiarity with industry tools including Morningstar Direct, eVestment, FactSet, Bloomberg, etc.

Knowledge of equity investment concepts including portfolio construction and factor investing

Attuned to the competitive landscape to position platform and strategies
