OVERVIEW OF POSITION:
Provides quality clinical supervision and work direction to direct reports, providing discipline-specific treatment
for individuals with severe challenging behaviors diagnosed with autism, developmental delays, developmental
disabilities and/or other diagnosis. Oversees all components of the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs,
ensuring high quality services for participants and the use of best-practice guidelines, for own caseload and of
assigned regions.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
 Facilitates behavior programs for individuals with severe challenging behaviors based on the principles of
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Conducts assessments and experimental functional analysis. Provides
parent education, develops and delivers specific intervention activities, and functions as a liaison between
the organization, families, community, therapists, health care providers, etc.; supports both center-based
and home-based services and operations.
 Conducts evaluations, case-management reviews, quality assurance reviews and audits, for own caseload,
as assigned by Director of Several Behavior Services. Meets productivity requirements set forth in annual
budget.
 Leads and/or attends staff meetings. Prepares and provides specialized training and materials. Leads and
develops protocols for experimental functional analysis and other assessments.
 Ensures associate responsibilities, authorities, and accountabilities are clearly defined and understood.
Manages and evaluates the performance and productivity of associates in assigned region. Provides
training and onboarding for new associates; ongoing training to assigned SBS Program Managers and SBS
Behavior Technicians; and specialized training to associates preparing for various certifications.
 Works with Director of SBS and Human Resources in the recruitment/selection process of new associates
for the program in assigned region. Oversees associates involved in the recruitment/selection process as
needed.
 Attends conferences and trainings to remain current regarding new research, current trends and
developments in autism, special education and related fields.
 Functions as liaison between the organization, families, and other community agencies including regional
centers, school programs, therapists, and health care providers, assisting with questions and concerns as
they arise.
 Responsible to support Behavior Technicians and Program Managers at least (2) 4 - hour shifts per week, in
clinic.
 Responsible to provide supervision hours to SBS Assocaites who are accruing BCBA practicum hours.
 Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:
 Master’s degree in ABA or related field.
 Must possess and maintain a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification. Has held BCBA
certification for at least 1 year.
 Must possess and maintain current CPR certification.

 

EXPERIENCE:

 At least 2 years of professional experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD),
as an individual contributor (own caseload) in a multi-interdisciplinary team setting; and 1-3 years
supervisory experience. Typically, experience in managing severe behavior problems such as frequent
property destruction, aggression toward others, SIB, PICA, etc. with adolescents and adults.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
 Expert knowledge of scientifically-validated methodologies and behavioral analytic approaches found to
benefit individuals with ASD; familiar with current related research findings.
 Approach to intervention based on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis. Strong competent in leading
and completing Behavioral Assessments including descriptive assessment and experimental functional
analysis. Competent in providing training and implementing function-based intervention plans including
Functional Communication Training (FCT).
 Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
 Able to interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations.
 Able to consistently demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills.
 Ability to maintain customer service orientation and professionalism in all interactions.
 Ability to communicate effectively, through oral and written skills, and work cooperatively with a variety of
individuals and groups. Must relate well to families and maintain positive affect.
 Ability to exercise discretion, demonstrate good judgement, and maintain a high level of confidentiality to
handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
 Ability to pass a post-offer physical examination and a TB test.
 Ability to provide proof of required vaccinations or positive titer showing immunity. A signed declination
may be acceptable for certain vaccinations.
 Ability to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and
Federal Bureau of Investigation per Easterseals Southern California and/or program requirements.
 Ability to travel locally; maintain driving record in compliance with Transportation Safety Standards;
maintain auto insurance and vehicle registration.
 Must pass all drug testing required by ESSC.
