The role you’ll contribute:
The Associate CLO would be responsible for providing legal guidance and advice to 7 acute care hospitals, 2 critical access hospitals, 3 multidisciplinary physician groups, and 4 ambulatory surgery centers located in the Mid-America and Southwest Regions of AdventHealth, which is comprised of the following states: Kansas, Wisconsin, and Texas.
Strong background in Medical Staff matters, credentialing, patient care, risk management, licensing, and accreditation matters.
Strong skills in drafting complex transactional documents, bylaws, contracts, and policies and procedures.
Strong regulatory background in anti-kickback, Stark, HIPAA, tax-exempt organization rules and regulations, fair market value and commercially reasonable concepts, and business organizations with an ability to draft and negotiate contracts, and provide legal advice on physician recruitment, employment, retention, compensation practices, affiliation agreements, professional service agreements, practice acquisitions and joint ventures matters, other business relationships, various types of leases including space leases and equipment leases, subpoenas, and garnishment issues. This individual will advise CEOs, executive management, compliance department, and medical staff leadership on a wide variety of health care and legal issues.

· Medical staff issues
· Licensing
· Informed consent
· Various types of leases including space leases and equipment leases
· Subpoenas
· Garnishment issues
· Legal aspects of patient care including informed consent, medical records and privacy issues, and patients' rights issues
· Guidance on revenue cycle matters
· Other health care provider requirements
· Participates in supervising legal support staff, paralegals, and contract managers
· Adheres to the Rules of Professional Conduct of the Florida Bar and other state bar associations of which he/she is a member
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :
· Graduate of an accredited law school
· Graduate of a four-year accredited university
· 8-15 years health law practice experience
· Law firm or relevant governmental experience
· Member of Kansas and Texas Bar Associations or Authorized House Counsel in State of Kansas and Texas
Preferred Qualifications :
· Master’s degree in business or health care administration
· Board certified in health law or board eligible.
