Are you an analytical and collaborative compensation pro? Then you belong at Smithfield Foods! As the Associate Compensation Manager, you play a key role in attracting and retaining talent by ensuring competitive and fair compensation practices within the organization. This role will manage the day-to-day administration of compensation programs including working closely with a team of Compensation Analysts to analyze job roles, conduct salary surveys, evaluate market trends, and make recommendations for salary structures, and other compensation-related initiatives. 

You will work closely with leadership and cross-functional partners to deliver competitive and strategically aligned compensation solutions that support the company's compensation philosophy, goals, and values. This role involves a high level of strategic thinking and collaboration with business leaders and HR teams to influence compensation decisions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Compensation Strategy: Develop, implement, and manage salary structures, compensation policies, job evaluations, internal equity analysis, data modeling, and reporting to support corporate and field compensation programs in alignment with business goals.

Market Analysis: Conduct market salary surveys and benchmarking to support market competitiveness and internally equitable pay.

Compliance: Keep abreast of compensation trends and developments in compensation practices and regulatory requirements; proactively recommend enhancements or adjustments as needed; ensure compliance with local, state, and federal wage laws

Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address compensation needs by developing competitive compensation offers and pay strategies.

Data-Driven Decisions: Analyze compensation data to inform leadership on pay trends and make strategic recommendations.

Leadership: Drives a positive employee experience through leadership by way of employee development and coaching.

WHAT WE'RE SEEKING:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions. 

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 3+ years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience; required.

Experience acting as a lead by providing training, coaching or mentoring to less experienced staff or through managing processes or projects.

Strong understanding of compensation policies, principles, pay strategies and employment laws.

Ability to reconcile large quantities of data, ability to apply analytics to recommend solutions and drive informed decision making.

Ability to apply sound judgment and discretion working with highly confidential and sensitive information.

Occasional travel involved to collaborate with others.

OTHER SKILLS THAT MAKE YOU STAND OUT:

Experience with HRIS systems; working knowledge of Workday is a plus.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, high priority tasks and projects simultaneously and adjust to shifting priorities, while meeting deadlines.

Excellent verbal, written, organizational and project management skills with a strong attention to detail

Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
