Our construction dispute resolution professionals provide expert advice and independent professional opinion on some of the world’s largest, most complex, and high-profile capital project disputes. Courts, corporations, and tribunals rely on us to get to the nub of the issue in any given dispute. We develop efficient and robust delay analyses and present our conclusions in a clear, concise, and objective manner to enable the resolution of complex disputes.

The role will involve frequent client interaction, including preparing and presenting results.

We’re looking for bright and ambitious Graduate to join our Singapore-based delay team.
As an Associate, you will assist in the preparation of pre-dispute advice, litigation support and expert witness testimony, claims assessment and schedule analysis. You will be able to perform data research, management, and analysis. You will support the appointed expert in preparing and presenting results to our clients and tribunals. You will be prepared to spend short stints abroad based on the location of our international clients.
Your strong academic track record is a given, you will be working towards or have recently achieved chartered status and have significant practical experience. Experience performing analysis on dispute related assignments would be considered an advantage but is not essential, as would a post-graduate degree in a construction law or management discipline.
You will work from our Singapore office. The international nature of our work means that successful candidates should be prepared to travel globally, sometimes at short notice. About the Role
We are seeking an Associate to join our Construction Disputes & Advisory Practice in Singapore. You will support and work alongside some of the most highly regarded delay experts in analysing and providing solutions on complex issues arising out of construction disputes in domestic and international arbitrations and litigations. You will work on projects across a wide range of industry sectors globally, including oil and gas, building, process plants, power generation, civil infrastructure, and marine projects. This position will suit candidates with an ambition to grow and develop as an expert in construction delay. You will be assigned a dedicated mentor to guide and support your professional development through on-the-job training, regular coaching and professional development courses and certifications.
Responsibilities
Assist in detailed forensic analysis of project data and schedules to determine the cause and extent of project delays and productivity loss.
Assist experts with writing and the preparation of expert reports for domestic and international arbitration and litigation, explaining the delay analysis performed and the results of the analyses.
Be part of a project team to provide advice and strategic solutions to clients on complex challenges faced in construction projects and assist in the preparation of reports for extension of time, loss and expense, disruption, and prolongation claims.
Requirements
BSc in engineering, science or similar from a leading university
Has some experience of working in an engineering, quantity surveying, construction/major projects or shipbuilding environment.
Advanced Microsoft Skills including Excel.
Fluent in English and one other language would be beneficial.
Outstanding and effective writing skills
Travel flexible both national and international.
Excellent oral and verbal communications skills
Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and independently.
Have solid analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills, and be proficient in planning and data analysis techniques and technology.
Ability to prioritise and manage work tasks to meet strict deadlines.
Have well developed communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
Be highly motivated, self-starting, curious and have a hunger to learn and develop yourself.
Be agile and flexible, comfortable with ambiguity and be able to apply yourself to new situations.
